Every trim boasts a 1.6 Liter CVVT DOHC I4 engine that delivers up to 110 horsepower and a torque of 106 pound-feet. All Accent trims come standard with FWD drivetrain, meaning the engine's power is smoothly delivered to the front wheels of the vehicle by either the 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, depending upon the specific trim in question. The Accent may also come with MacPherson struts, a rear torsion beam, 33.1-foot turning diameter, and even a B & M Racing Short-Throw Sport Shifter, as well, depending on the trim option you decide to consider.

The increased space provided for the Accent interior allows it to feature a variety of incredible amenities. With all of this extra space, the Accent provides features like a 6-way adustable driver seat, adjustable head restraints for all seating positions, folding armrest for the driver seat, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, power steering, advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and more.

The Accent exterior varies from trim to trim. Power mirrors come optional on the GS and GLS models, but standard on the SE, as does a rear wiper. Hyundai's 2009 Accent hatchback comes standard with an integrated roof spoiler, sport-tuned steering and suspension, aesthetically-appealing wheels, and a front variable intermittent wiper.
